How We Price
We set every price once: what the bag costs us to make and bring to you, plus a fair margin. There are no inflated "was" prices on this site, and the price is the same all year.
Where your money goes
Here is roughly how the €115 for our Black Leather Laptop Briefcase breaks down:
- About 28%: our partner workshop. The full-grain leather, hardware, lining and the hours of cutting and stitching.
- About 19%: Irish VAT, paid to Revenue.
- About 13%: getting it to you. Freight to Ireland, the dust bag and box, and tracked An Post delivery.
- About 6%: card fees, returns and repairs.
- About a third: running Artisan Leather. Photography, the website, advertising, and our profit.
Freight and delivery costs vary by order, so these figures are averages.
Why our prices look the way they do
Bags with a famous name on the front carry the cost of that name. Ours don't have one, so we don't charge for it. That's how a full-grain, hand-stitched bag can cost €105–€195 here.
No fake sales
You won't see a crossed-out price on our site. If we ever lower a price for good, we'll say so plainly.
